Microsoft Fabric
Migrate to Fabric without the rebuild
Consolidate Synapse, Databricks, and Power BI into a single Fabric estate — in waves, with governance and FinOps wired in from day one.
Why now
The problems Fabric migration is supposed to solve
Most enterprises inherit an analytics stack that grew one tool at a time. Fabric is only an answer if the migration itself is disciplined.
Fragmented analytics estate
Power BI, Synapse, Databricks, and ad-hoc warehouses each solving a slice — with duplicate pipelines, drift, and no single source of truth.
Licensing & compute sprawl
Overlapping SKUs across analytics and data platforms, capacity you can't attribute, and costs that grow faster than usage.
Migration risk
A lift-and-shift to Fabric that breaks semantic models, reports, or downstream consumers is worse than staying put.
Our approach
A four-phase migration, not a big bang
Each phase has exit criteria, a business owner, and a cost envelope. No wave starts before the previous one is running in production.
Assess
Inventory workloads across Synapse, ADF, Databricks, and Power BI. Map dependencies, identify candidates for OneLake shortcuts vs. full migration, and set a cost baseline.
Blueprint
Design the target Fabric architecture: workspaces, domains, capacities, medallion layout in OneLake, and governance with Purview. Define cutover waves.
Migrate
Move pipelines to Data Factory in Fabric, notebooks to Spark in Fabric, and semantic models with Direct Lake — in parallel with the old estate to de-risk each wave.
Optimize
Right-size capacities, tune Direct Lake vs. Import, set up CI/CD for Fabric items, and instrument FinOps so every workspace has a cost owner.
Outcomes clients typically see
Numbers from recent Fabric engagements. Your mileage depends on where you're starting from — we benchmark in the assessment phase.
Beyond Fabric
Migration is one slice of a wider estate. Pair it with data engineering to redo the pipelines right, or with AI-as-a-Service to put OneLake to work on top of models. If you're standing up the underlying lake from scratch, our S.C.A.L.E. accelerator deploys the Terraform-driven data foundation that Fabric sits on.
